Job Posting – Marketing and Communications Manager

1N5 | A Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Non-Profit Full-Time · In-Person · [Cincinnati] · [$65,000-$72,000]

At 1N5, marketing isn’t just about growing an audience; it’s about making sure the right message reaches someone at the right moment, whether that’s a parent looking for resources, a school partner planning a program, or a person who is struggling and needs to know where to turn. We’re looking for a Marketing and Communications Manager who brings strategy, creativity, and genuine care for mental health to every campaign, post, and press release.

What you’ll do

This role owns 1N5’s external voice from the ground up: building an annual marketing strategy, leading social media and content creation, managing press and media relationships, and producing the print materials and newsletters that keep our community informed. You’ll lead a small, collaborative team, supervising our Social Media Assistant and coordinating a contracted video manager and graphic design intern, while partnering closely with our Development team to make sure every campaign supports both our mission and our fundraising goals.

Recent and upcoming work includes creative video campaigns with partners like Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, awareness pushes for Mental Health Awareness Month and Suicide Prevention Month, and our Mental Health Moments e-newsletter to keep our community of mental health champions informed.

What you bring

  • 3–5 years of marketing, communications, or public relations experience (nonprofit experience a bonus)
  • Creativity and strong social media, content creation, and project management skills
  • Comfort managing multiple channels and deadlines at once without losing sight of the bigger strategy
  • A genuine interest in mental health and wellness, and the ability to communicate with empathy and compassion
  • Experience supervising junior staff or interns is a plus

How we support you

This is a full-time, in-office role (with one remote day per week after six months). We know social media doesn’t run 9-to-5, so we’ve built real structure around after-hours work: automated crisis-response messaging handles urgent contacts outside business hours, and when weekend monitoring or events are genuinely required, compensatory flex time is available.
